Dining area in one bedroom condo

Outside Clarksale house

The old house had really bad shutters but we managed to paint them to look brand new. We also painted the black male box and light fixture.

The side yard had a fence from the neighbors , so we just added on to it at this corner.

This is the old house, probably built in early 1900 like most of the bungalows in this area. It was probably added on to and remodeled many times. We were lucky to get central air and heat and most of the windows still open! The yard has some nice bushes and flowers. We painted with three colors and then a dark green for the shutters. The house had been painted about 4 years ago so we just pressure washed. I liked the peach color, but picked a little lighter shade for the main house and darker for the bottom and lighter for the trim.

I found this swan in garage and painted it with silver tint. The flowers didnt last long in this heat. I like the opening to the house, although I wish I had a front porch.

Kitchen - dining room -Clarksdale house

The new kitchen. Still has clutter but little room. On the counter we have dish drainer (no dishwasher) and coffee maker and blender and coffee cup hanger. I moved the canisters to the island on wheels that I bought. Very cute and very handy.

New dining room.

The old kitchen floor. The table and table cloth left the room and now resides in Biloxi

new kitchen and dining area. Note that the wall was removed and kitchen cabinets repainted. and new knobs put on...they were painted the same color as the FR place and shutters. It has a magic chef gas oven with a huge microwave/hood oven on top but microwave went out so we have a small one until the electrician can come in. We also have new curtains. Some of the trim is white and some walls blue (same as everything) the floor was replaced. Note the lime latern and green chair in corner with chinese cabinet and lamp and there is a chinese pic above that in the dining room.

Old kitchen, orange counter tops and pink embossed cabinets.

Dining room - clarksdale house

This is the old kitchen. Below is the new kitchen
Another view of the open dining/kitchen area. The green and white crock pot looks good on top of the refrigerator/ That came with the house. We also replaced the floors.

This ceiling fan has got to go...it is rusted and we do not use the fan part. Looking for a nice black chandilier.

Here is the nook area after a redo. Note the wall has been mostly taken down , opening up the dining /kitchen area. The nook is great for dish storage since the kitchen is so small. Behind the nook is the washer and dryer. They came with the house and are in good shape...the only problem is that you cant open the back door all of the way. We put a shelf on the back wall...but it is too high for me. I brought in my old Italian marble dining room set,but the chairs (which were beige got stained and pulled in the move, etc so I stained them lime green. The table wear matches in a blue and lime green theme. Skye called this the bright color room. The walls are painted the skye blue as the rest of the house and the other side has a lime green paper lantern.

THis is the DR when we moved in. We kept the drapes and the corner built in cabinet. Carpet will eventually go . So will the ceiling fan...looking for a chandilier.

Livingroom Clarksdale House

The new livingroom. Doesnt it look cozy?
Another view of LR with Fireplace. THis notes the FP redo. Painted the red brick, with the shutter green sand paint and left the mantal off white. Note fireplace screen hides the gas heater.

The LR before the FP redo and I also redid the mantal and ceiling fan lights.

This is the LR before I redid the Fireplace and removed the sheers.

Better picture of the LR with couches and shelving unit. We had the ottoman (storage) from our old place and even though it is too big for the area it serves a purpose. Would also like to pull up carpet for hard wood floors. Look , oscar likes the couch, brown towns and decorated wtih a light blue throw. The drapes are beigh.

A little dark but you can see the couch layout, and fireplace. Note ladder shelve in the corner. THe couch is on the opposite wall from the bookcase and TV.

THe bookcase area is handy. Note the nice door and wreath. THe outside door has decorative iron on storm door. We painted the walls and left the bookcases an offwhite. OUr decor for this room is brown and blue.

Bedroom # 1 Clarksdale House

The side of the bedroom # 1...our master. It has an area for TV...doesnt have enough plugs!

We kept the bedroom pretty much the same. OUr furniture fits, as we have some big pieces...not as good as the old bedroom suite we had but better than the split we had in the apt. We kept the strawgrass wallpaper, and white wood paneling for now. Eventually going, along with carpet and ceiling fan. Drapes came with house (green with embrodered green and white sheers)

Outside Clarksdale House

The new back yard. We put up a little pool for Skye and see the veggie plants to the right of the fence. I eventually had to move the plants on the porch to under the carport...too hot! In the fall, where the dead grass is under the pool, we are going to build a brick patio to put outdoor furniture.

This is the new back yard. Note the fence, painted the garage and removed some old flowers. The day lillies are blooming, but we removed the day lillies to the right and replanted along fence, so I can have more room for veggies.

We painted the shutters a dark green, this paint has metalic granules in it - think it is called a marble coating. Very thick...also put it on fireplace.

Old back yard. Note we fenced it in, painted garage in 3 colors and put in cement flooring in garage. I also planted lots of veggies!

The house is the 2nd to the end. On the other side is the Sunflower river. Thank goodness, we are on a slight hill. THe front yard has a big tree and nice side walks.

The front has a nice big oak and the side yard has lot of bushes and daylillies. We fenced in the side to back.

Theback yard was in good shape.

Just got rid of a lot of potted plants that was on wood frames.

Back of house has an alley that extends to both side streets. We fenced in the back lot and have locks on both gates (for both cars)

Back yard , note painted house and stained deck and BBQ GRILL (came with house) Note fence. Back yard before-note no fence and unpainted garage. (now storage). There was alot of potted plants on walkway.

Clarksdale house, LR in progress

This is first phase of LR, as you will see later, we redid the FP, but the books are in place and the TV stand. THe carpet is eventually going to be removed as there are some nice wood floors underneath.

Livingroom with furniture. Kept curtains and took out sheers. We love our couch set that fits nicely into the 5 sided wall. Note the ladder shelf in corner. We have a rattan table in that area as well. The animals love the couch too as they can sit on the pillows and look out the window. Note the light bulbs in ceiling fixture. We changed them as well...didn't quite like the ducks!

Clarksdale house - bathroom

New bathroom, Note the new paint, painted the paneling and put in new sheet rock and painted side walls. Took out gas heater in wall and old medicine cabinet and leaky toilet (replaced) Put in 2 light scones and new medicine cabinet with small baskets. Because it is a small bath and needed storage we put in towel shelves on each side. THe floors (which had several layers of rotten carpet and flooring was replaced. New curtains and shower curtain. THe bathroom also has old fashion hamper in closet, huge metal bathtub and shower. Crystal door knobs are nice and orginal.

The Living room, side wall into DR

New Kitchen clarksdale house

New kitchen. Painted walls, painted cabinets, new floors, curtains. Note also opened up wall.

New and improved Clarksdale house

Our bedroom one (small house) only has 2 bedrooms - about 1000 sq ft.
